The gentle life hub is a membership for you to build self-compassion, confidence and inner strength to create lasting change for your life and work.
We do this through monthly lessons, weekly drop-in sessions, live meditations and accountability through community within the group.
If you want to live with more peace, grace and ease,
If you’d like to cultivate self compassion for personal and professional success,
If you’re ready to increase your confidence in your decision making to lead to less overwhelm and stress,
The Gentle Life Hub is ready to welcome you.
In my view, gentle living doesn’t mean:
- Being weak, meek, silent or invisible
- Slowing your life to a dull plod that feels, boring or restrictive
- Dampening your emotions and feelings, or faking/forcing positivity
You’ll also be pleased to know that creating a gentle life doesn’t require you to take a vow of silence, move to an ashram, or spend every waking moment focussing on your own self care (because although that would be lovely, we’ve all got things to do, roles to fulfill and laundry to put away).
Gentle living is, however, about:
- Creating the very best life for us and living in more flow
- Having compassion for ourselves even in difficult moments
- Developing resilience and even finding peace in uncertainty
- How to stop pushing or pulling on things that aren’t right
- Having permission to follow your path and vision. Finding and feeling amazing about that vision
- Being more true to ourselves, present in our lives and find joy again
- Being bold and confident in our voice
- Creating a home, business and family life that feels and is successful
- Bringing in daily activities, thoughts and feeling that make us feel more like us again, to drive us forward and be excited
How will the hub help you get this?
The gentle life hub means you have one place to access guidance, support and tools to create the life you want to live.
With monthly lessons, weekly drop-in sessions and regular live meditations you’ll have a platform to design and lead the life and business you’d like. You’ll also be in great company, surrounded by other people who value living with more ease to succeed, and committed to embracing it in their lives too.
All the noise
There’s so much noise everywhere; inside our heads, around us in our homes, online and further afield in the world.
That noise feels overwhelming at times and can impact us in our decision making, how we feel about ourselves, our pace, direction and choices.
By becoming more aware of
- what gentle living really means for us
- our influences and how these impact us positively and negatively
- where and how we spend our time
- what makes us happy and what doesn’t
We cut through the noise to focus on what really matters, what we value and how we spend our time.
The last thing I want to do is add noise to the crowded lives we already lead. In fact I’ve been looking for more calm and even silence for a while now myself.
That’s why I make a commitment that this programme doesn’t simply add more noise and busyness to your life, but helps you review where you can reduce all of that noise, busyness and overwhelm and create the space, pace, life and business you want to lead.
Here’s what members are saying about the Hub
What’s included in the membership?
I’ve curated three very simple components that provide what you need to do this in easy to access ways. As long as you’re prepared to create some change along the way.
- Regular live meditations – for commitment to regular practice of focus and calm (even when it feels impossible)
- Regular live drop-in sessions – for personalised expert advice from me your host and your fellow gentle life community. Use these sessions for accountability, advice, decision making, a reminder that you’re on the right track with something, and anything in between
- Monthly live lessons – for tailored learning on behaviour and mindset change with coaching on gentle living and mindful working
In addition, and always simply optional to access, you will have:
- A recorded lesson on creating your gentle life vision for impactful change
- Motivational podcast episodes just for members (like having me coach you in your pocket, so I’m told!)
- Challenges on gentle living (don’t you love the oxymoron)
Doors next open for June 2019
In the coming months, the lessons and topics we discuss will include:
- The drive behind perfectionism
- Managing difficult emotions
- Starting the day in the most gentle way
- Planning and organisation
Previous topics that you have access to when you join include
- The key factors of resilience and how these lead you to a more gentle life
- Decluttering your mind for more gentle moments
- Finding your true purpose
- and more in the form of lessons, meditations and podcasts
Here’s what members are saying about being in the hub
I’m Emily, and I try to lead a more gentle life and run a more mindful business too.
In the last 3 years I’ve worked in my own coaching business with hundreds of people through their own stressful life moments. However, over the last 20 years in total, through the NHS and privately I’ve helped people prevent and manage health and life issues, dealing with burnout, anxiety, serious illness and unwanted change, supporting them to live in greater alignment and move forwards even when they felt it may not be possible.
I myself wanted, and continue to want, a more gentle (but still empowered) and a more mindful (but still bold) business and this is the hub and expertise I wanted myself. I mean, let’s be honest, I benefit as much from this work now as I ever did too.
The price of the hub is £33 a month

- How long is my membership valid for?
You can join the hub for as little or as long as you like, you aren’t tied-in, so you can cancel at any time if you need to.
- How to the drop in sessions work and how will they benefit me?
For the first drop in of each month, it will be a little more structures where I’ll invite you to share your intentions (for home, work, or otherwise) for the month ahead and how you intend to reach them.
After this, the sessions can be used how you’d like, and primarily I see them being used for two things.
First, if you’d like accountability for a task, a project, a piece of work or something you’re doing for the hour that we’re online together, I’ll hold you accountable. Each week you’ll know that you have this hour to create this time for focus. Part of being gentle is being focused and in tune with what our present moment is, and if you need an hour of focus for whatever you want, it’s there. Second, it’s for you to chat with me – you can ask a question about something you’re struggling with, a decision you need to make, a confidence boost, a query about something to do with home/work/others/life. This is incredibly valuable as sometimes we just need to air what’s on our mind, have it heard and think about it differently. Every week you’ll have access to this that you’re a member.
- Will this help me in my business?
I work with people on leading a more gentle life, and part of that involves them using those skills in their work and businesses too.
When we’re working towards our gentle life, we’re happier and more content all round, which impacts our work or businesses too. Leading a more gentle life doesn’t have to be about downing tools and completely stepping away. In fact, we want to prevent that from happening because I know how important your sense of purpose outside of home is to you.
The live sessions create the space, peace and time for you to reflect and plan the coming month, with a clear focus on what’s important to you – in life and work.
The meditations remind us how being in the present can be one of the most powerful tools we can do for ourselves when we’re in or preventing overwhelm. This brings clarity to our home, work life and relationships.
The drop in sessions are there to be used as you need with questions, queries and thoughts you might be having that day to get you unstuck in the moment – helping you again with business queries, home life, health, happiness and more.
- How is the Gentle Life Membership Hub different to your Course?
The courses provide a more structured framework within which to make changes and also work with me. We have clear goals and outcomes laid out from start to finish. The hub is more free-flowing and open ended, meaning you can dip in and out and not be behind. I set up the hub as a way to provide support to those who were ending my courses and wanted a longer term approach to support, as well as those who would like to access a lighter touch approach to gentle living in working with me.
- It’s fine me trying to be more gentle – it’s everyone around me who isn’t. What do you suggest?
I totally understand how it feels like even though we can make all the changes we want, if others around us aren’t changing then what’s the point? Actually though, this is a great way to begin to practice in what only we can control – which is ourselves.
You might be referring to children, in which case it could be said that, as their parent/carer, we’re the ones who need to teach them to be more gentle themselves. But we can only do that if we understand the principles and practices behind it too. You might be referring to a partner or family or friends, and in this case yes of course we can share principles of gentle living and being more mindful with them also (with their permission) but if we can first understand ourselves, how we feel within our world, how we support ourselves to cultivate compassion, confidence, our voice, our way of being, then we begin to focus less on what others are doing in their lives anyway and bring it back to being happier within ourselves first.
As a member, you’ll also be with other members in the group who are committed to gentle living and thinking around all of this, which automatically brings community to the movement you’re interested, however engaged the loved ones around you are (or are not).
- I’m too busy to work out how to be less busy right now
This is a really good point and worth reflecting on for all of us. The hub is a central place to reduce overwhelm and stress, but I understand how it can feel like just another thing to do.
Part of the membership is about helping you to make sense of your ideal and current life including your levels of busyness and overwhelm. The lessons, drop in sessions and meditations are curated by me in response to working with hundreds of people in creating their own gentle lives and seeing how these three powerful elements alone bring about shifts and change for the longer term.
The hub membership can be used in a way that help reduce your busyness, because you’re making a commitment to join the meditations, you’re allowing yourself to learn new skills in the lessons and crucially you’re getting one to one time to have questions or concerns answered directly by me and the group when you join any of the drop in sessions. These three components are designed to provide you with space and personalised support rather than lots to do when you join.
But regarding the case of feeling too busy, we should ask this question too – what kind of busy is it you’re experiencing? Because if it’s non-negotiable unchangeable busy then that’s one thing (and we would then ask how managing your overwhelm with that level of busy is going, and what distractions you have in place that aren’t supporting you right now too), but if it’s busyness because you’re also making yourself extra busy, with things that don’t have to happen or need to be there but they just are because it’s how you’ve always done things, then let’s talk. This is the first level of busy we want to investigate and ideally change because if it’s making you unhappy then it deserves to be adjusted or removed.
This isn’t about adding something to your day to give you more to do. It’s about finding space to create even more space, where that’s possible.
- Is there more to the back catalogue of lessons when I join?
I’ve joined memberships where there were amazing resource available but I just never managed to get round to using them. More fool me of course, but it made me reflect on how common this is for many of us and what we really want access to. What I feel we really want access to is time with someone who can help us make sense of the issue we’re exploring, time to reflect on it ourselves, and the space to feel safe in communicating what’s happening. That’s why I put the lessons and resources in the membership for future members to access but not as a condition that they feel the have to watch and listen. However I know how valuable these resources are so they are within the membership area for you to watch and listen when the time is right.
- Is it therapy?
No, it’s coaching and the main difference between coaching and therapy is that in coaching we look more to your present and future than your past. However, as an ex NHS health psychologist I bring my many years of experience in working with people’s minds and mental wellbeing to shape how we create and make changes that support and help us in our lives to all my work.
- Can I access what’s in the membership elsewhere online anyway?
Certainly videos, podcasts, meditations and programmes on self-help, being less busy, managing stress, reducing our mental and physical load, conscious and simple living are all out there. However through the hub you’ll have curated content and coaching that’s tailored to leading a more gentle life and mindful work specifically for you. Through the hub you’ll have expert guidance on hand weekly, and through the group, to answer your personal and professional questions and thoughts as they arise, making it a unique space.
The hub is live and responsive to your needs, without the need to feel like you’re constantly behind, with expert guidance and challenges from me and some guests, and community around the content and your changes.
- What if I can’t make the lessons, meditations or drop in sessions?
The drop in sessions and meditations will alternate days and times to ensure members can make as many as possible and to factor in time zones. You’ll receive notification through the members events page of days, times and topics of what’s being covered when.
All group sessions will be recorded for you to watch or listen back to when you can. The meditations will take place in the community space and be on the feed of the group for you to access at your leisure when you can’t make them live. The drop in sessions aren’t recorded as these are more informal and personal to those able to attend and wanting guidance on the day. All correspondence takes place over email and Zoom so you can access anywhere you have Wifi or 4G.
- How involved as the host are you?
I’m passionate about this work, and I don’t just mean in talking about it. I’ve seen the transformation that releasing difficulties, busyness, overwhelm and stress has on my own and others’ lives and can see how this works time and time again when we’re in a place to change.
I’m very involved in the work I facilitate, and whilst the hub isn’t a one-to-one programme, you’ll have access to me (and your fellow gentle life members) in the drop in sessions, meditations and live lessons and in between through the membership group also. If you’d like to hear what other clients and groups have said about working with me, take a look here and here.
